Josh Meer is a multidisciplinary creative from San Francisco, CA based in Brooklyn, NY.
Born to a musical family, Josh started in music at a young age under the tutelage of his grandmother, who showed him early piano fundamentals. After studying classical and jazz piano, he set his sights on the electric guitar, much to the chagrin of his father. He developed his own sound as he started composing and has become an accomplished songwriter and producer. Josh's original music has been featured in multiple TV shows, various commercials for worldwide brands, and has streamed millions of times across DSPs. He's also contributed to several projects by industry stalwarts Dominic Fike and Jim-E Stack.
Outside of music, Josh has experience at agencies and in-house in several creative roles. Currently, he is Head of Production at Abnormal Security, working directly with both founders on several strategic projects to buttress the company’s burgeoning story. Previously, he was at Haddad & Partners, writing marketing assets for Microsoft, LightBox, Cameo, and other high-profile clients. He also spent time at Spotzer Digital, helping small businesses develop their online presence with SEO-driven web content and infographics.
Josh also has branding and visual design experience, which began in early 2017 when he was gearing up to release music under his current project, Westerns. In addition to taking countless photographs to serve as the visual counterpart to the music, he designed logos and a limited edition run of hats inspired by his favorite sports teams. In 2022, Josh held his first art show, a collaboration with fellow San Francisco artist Elliot Bamberger. Called 415 Sports, the project is a celebration of both artists’ extensive collection of retro SF sports team apparel. The show opened on 4/15/22 at HUF SF where limited edition prints, books, and hats were sold.
On his off days, chances are Josh is playing chess, watching the 49ers, Warriors, or Giants (and more recently, F1), riding his bike, reading, or listening to a relaxation podcast at 2x speed.
